The vineyard is acclaimed for its high-quality roses and Chateau de Berne’s wines are featured in top guides such as the Guide Hachette

crushed tomatoes

and Kick-on Ranch

but still showing quite a bit of Pinot character

The first vines were planted here in 1989 in a clearing within the oak savannah

crushed rocks

cherries and boysenberries on the full-bodied palate are contrasted by hints of lavender

blackberry

This certified-organic (by CCPB) one-man estate makes compelling wine from old vines in the heart of Chianti Classico

aged in cask (not French barrique)
